Karnali

Peak: Mar–May & Oct–mid-Nov. Closed during monsoon (Jun–Aug).

Seti

Same window as Karnali. Crystal-clear water in spring & autumn.

Sunkoshi

Feb–May best. Great for expedition-style multi-day trips.

Bheri

Tracks Karnali's window. Quieter water, productive Mahseer pools.

Tamor

Far-east river off Kanchenjunga. Pre- and post-monsoon are best.

Babai

Inside Bardia National Park. Wildlife + fishing combo.

Budigandaki

Easy-access Himalayan river. Best with moderate flow.

Kali Gandaki

Deep-gorge Mahseer water. Avoid high spring melt for clarity.

Trishuli

Easy access from Kathmandu. Good for short trips.

Pokhara Lakes

Phewa & Begnas fish year-round. Best in autumn and spring.

Pro tip:Nepal's monsoon (June–August) muddies the rivers and makes fishing impossible on most. Plan your trip for spring (March–May) or autumn (September–November) for the best conditions.
